Students will learn what are needs (essentials for survival and well-being), what are wants (desires but not necessary for survival) and the difference between the two. This distinction will help students to prioritize their spending and make informed money decisions.
Students will learn how to create a budget by allocating income to meet expenses. They will also learn the importance of tracking expenses, identifying areas where they can cut costs, and making smart spending choices to ensure efficient resource use.
Students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of banking, including different types of accounts, how to deposit and withdraw money, understanding interest, and basic banking functions.
Students will learn the importance of setting financial goals, both short-term and long-term. They will be taught how to define specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time- bound (SMART) goals, and develop strategies to achieve them.
After setting the financial goals, students will learn the concepts of saving and investing, including the differences between the two. They will understand the importance of saving money regularly and starting early, the power of compound interest, and how to evaluate different investment options.
Students will learn about the various forms of digital payments, including debit cards, credit cards, mobile payment apps, and online banking platforms. They will understand how these payment methods work, their advantages and disadvantages, and how to use them safely and responsibly to avoid common scams and frauds.
